Prologue: Why Tim’s Journey Matters to Me
I didn’t know Tim Seefeldt before his stroke.
By the time we met, he was already living in the aftermath—rebuilding his voice, reclaiming his rhythm, and learning how to move forward after life tried to stop him in his tracks. And yet, you’d never guess it from the way he carried himself.
Tim had this rare ability to turn everyday office life into something meaningful. Whether it was a hallway conversation, a dry policy joke, or a story shared over coffee, he always brought sharp wit, deep empathy, and a perspective that made you think twice—and usually laugh once.
We worked together for a number of years, and though the tasks may fade, the conversations don’t. Tim was more than a colleague. He was a storyteller in a world that desperately needs them.
And then, just like that, he was gone.
He didn’t disappear after his stroke. In fact, that’s when his story really began. But when tragedy struck again—this time claiming his beloved Patricia—Tim stepped away from the space we once shared. And I felt the absence. Not just of his physical presence, but of his words, his laughter, and that unmistakable voice.
I miss our conversations. I always will.
But what I carry with me are the memories: of working alongside a man who found ways to turn pain into purpose, and purpose into prose. Who could make you cry, then laugh, then think. And who’s now taking that gift beyond our little corner of government—and sharing it with the world.
This article is more than an update on a former colleague. It’s a tribute to a friend. A writer. A man whose voice deserves to be heard.

How Tim Seefeldt Turned Survival Into Storytelling
“I’ve had more stops and starts than a New York City bus during rush hour.”That’s how Tim Seefeldt sums up his creative journey.
But now? He’s done idling. This is Timmy’s Big New Plan.
A plan to turn grief into grit, raw stories into stage sets, and three powerful manuscripts into must-read books—all while launching himself from anonymous author to laugh-out-loud storyteller on a mission.

🧠 The Stroke That Tried to End It All
In 2010, Tim had what he jokingly calls a “brain buzz.”
A massive stroke hit—wiping out his ability to read, write, or calculate simple math. At just 45, he was neurologically reset to square one.
Doctors said he might never return to work.
Might never write again.
“When I was told I may not read again, relearn math or hold a steady job, I’d choose to forget and ignore.”
But Tim didn’t stay down. He spun pain into perspective, denial into momentum—and started writing.
And writing.
And writing.
From hospital beds to speaking engagements, he chronicled the agony and absurdity of recovery. His honesty, often wrapped in sarcasm and delivered with a wink, pulled people in.
“Selective memory was a survival tactic. But it also helped me hold on to what mattered.”
💔 The Loss That Broke Him Open Again

Then came Patricia.
Or rather, the loss of Patricia—his wife, editor, partner in every sense.
After a brutal, fast-moving return of cancer, Patricia passed away in August 2022. Her final words, her grace under pressure, and her unshakable gratitude have become Tim’s north star.
“I won’t ask why. I’ve loved my life.”
Patricia’s death didn’t destroy Tim.But it did remake him—again.
In his blog posts, he’s processed everything from grief to fatherhood, from hospital beds to Cannon Beach, from the sound of her voice in an old video to her laughter that still echoes in their home.

And then?
He got funnier.
🎤 Timmy’s Big New Plan: Laughing Forward
After writing three books—🧠 A memoir about surviving a stroke📖 A genre-breaking novel👽 A third tale with forbidden love, extraterrestrials, and good old-fashioned treachery—Tim realized something:
“Self-publishing rarely works. But being famous? That does. So I just gotta get famous.”
Hence the plan:
🎙 Hit the stand-up circuit
🎥 Launch a series of Instagram Reels (@timseefeldt)
📚 Build an audience that forces publishers to pay attention
“I’ve been told by editors, ‘We’d publish this if you were famous.’ So let’s go fake it ‘til we make it, shall we?”
There’s wit. There’s wisdom. There’s even a little extraterrestrial romance. But none of it gets read unless we help turn Tim into a name that can’t be ignored.
✋ The Ask: Be Part of the Story

📣 Talk about him to someone who loves storytelling
“One day, when I’m published, your reward? You’ll be able to say:‘That guy Seefeldt? I helped make him. We’re tight.’”
This isn’t just a self-promo push. It’s a shared campaign for connection, catharsis, and creativity.
